In the shadow of Croagh Patrick
It’s a bit of a drive from Athlone to Westport so I headed off early. I was there early but that meant I could get some breakfast in town and get a few pictures of the landscape. Croagh Patrick looked as impressive as ever and it was almost hypnotic watching the weather and light changing so fast over it. The view from both their house and the suite at the hotel (Knockranny) was impressive.
I’ll throw in a couple of anecdotes before showing the rest of my fave images. Anecdote No1. I broke a glass in the bridal suite: moved the flowers and didn’t realise there was a pint glass of water underneath! Anecdote No2. It was the time of ‘Ice Bucket Challenges’ and after I’d left, Gavin from Dreamcatcher Productions had got the Bride and Groom to throw the bucket over him!
Almost forgot to mention the Vard Sisters were singing at the Church and in Ballintuber Abbey it sounded amazing!
