I love the Lodge at Ashford, County Mayo
There I said it. Sorry. But I really do love it there. It used to be called Lisloughrey Lodge and when it was done up I was the first photographer in the door taking all the initial commercial shots, many of which are still in use today. Since it was bought by the owners of Ashford Lodge, it’s gone from strength to strength and has matured into one of the best venues in Ireland. It’s a damn fine place to stay and all the rooms are super gorgeous. Food is fab. Staff are amazing. So yes, I love it.
I had the great pleasure of photographing Lorraine and Laurence who had a civil ceremony there. Lots of laughs, great crowd and a wonderfully relaxed day.
Here are a few details kindly supplied by Lorraine:
Venue – The Lodge at Ashford (duh!)Priests Name / Ceremony Officiant
Teresa Graham, Humanist Ireland
Make-up Artist(s) & Salon/Company Affiliated With Debbie Murphy, Ashford Lodge
Florist: Geraldine Haire
Dress: The Suite Bridal, Dress was Rosa Clara, Bridemaid’s dresses were from Tamen Michael.
The couple kindly gave me a quote to include here (#swoon)
“Corin is the consummate professional who blends seamlessly into the background while taking fabulous shots. He has a perfectly relaxed demeanour for wedding days and is particularly good at capturing the mood and interactions of the bridal party and guests. We are particularly impressed with his “documentary” type shots as nearly as guests were captured and none of them noticed him taking the shots.”
– Thanks Lorraine and Laurence! cb x
